We Win!!!  The Real Clash of the Titans

In the real realm of things that are, our world as we know it now, and in a time that is yet to come, there exists in reality . . . 

• “. . . a great, fiery red dragon” (Revelation 12:3 – NKJV)

The apostle John goes on in Revelation, chapter 12, to describe this fiery dragon as . . .  

• “. . . that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan” (Revelation 12:9 – NKJV)

This great . . . dragon is the one . . . 

• “. . . who deceives the whole world” (Revelation 12:9 – NKJV)

He is the one who it is said of . . . 

• “. . . the whole world lies under the sway of” (I John 5:19 – NKJV)

A powerful force, Satan deals his evil sway in the realm of men. He is without equal in the world of evil beings and in constant opposition to the God who created him. His rebellion is without regret. The Devil is behind every evil that has been put forth to deceive man and ultimately see him (man) eternally separated from God and all that is good. He wars on a round-the-clock basis, leading an army of hell in an effort to thwart the person and work of the Lord Jesus Christ. 

But Satan, as powerful as he is, a “Titan” of great proportions, is up against Him who we are told is . . . 

• “. . . the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last” (Revelation 1:11 – NKJV)

And that He has . . . 

• “. . . the keys of Hades and of Death” (Revelation 1:18 – NKJV)

Further, it is said of Him . . . 

• “Now . . . heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns . . . He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.” (Revelation 19:11-15 – NKJV )

This is the One who we are told is . . . 

• ” . . . KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:16 – NKJV)

This is the Lord Jesus Christ, and if I may, a “Titan” of greater proportions! And He will accomplish in His war the great feat of seeing,

• “The devil, who deceived . . . cast into the lake of fire and brimstone . . . (to) be tormented day and night forever and ever” (Revelation 20:10 – NKJV)

And the Lord Jesus Christ will reign forever and forever, and the Devil will have been soundly defeated by Him who is “the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last” (Rev 1:11)

Great wars dot the history of mankind, justified wars and not-so-justified wars. There have been great conflicts that are studied and re-studied, written about and re-written about. But it is to be known that there will come a final war, a final conflict, a clash of “Titans” like none that has ever been seen or will be seen again.

In our time, a great deal of effort and money has gone into producing movies that portray the battles of good and evil forces coming against one another in the end of days. They portray the evil forces seeking to thwart the good focus and the good, in most ever portrayal, defeating the evil. Good against evil, a script written from the beginning of time, is a clash of “Titans” that will continue until our Lord declares the end of days.

For the students of Scripture, the disciples of Christ, we are made aware, in God’s Word, of the truth of the end-times war that will come. The great fiery dragon, Satan, the Devil, will be soundly defeated. His fate is already sealed.  He will be “cast into the lake of fire and brimstone” (Rev 20:10) by the One who is “the Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last (Rev 1:11) . . . the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Rev 19:16). . . Jesus who is the Christ, the Mighty God.  He will make war, one final war, and that war will be the real “clash of the Titans.”  And He will win!  Which means we win, too!!!
