A lifesong is a song with special meaning and significance in one’s life. The lyrics might have relevant meaning, or the song might evoke a memory of a person, place, event, etc.
Urbandictionary.com suggests that ” a person picks [a lifesong] and for the rest of their life when that song is heard the person (no matter where they are) is required to dance for approximately 15 seconds or more.”
What song makes you want to dance? Do you have a lifesong?
A Lifesong to Worship God!!!
Mark Hall, the lead singer of Casting Crowns, wrote the song “Lifesong” in 2005. The inspiration for the song came to Hall at a Third Day concert in a large outdoor amphitheater. While enjoying Third Day’s music and observing the crowd’s worship to the Lord, a verse came to his mind. A few years later, he told how the lyrics came about and why he wrote song.
“The verse that popped into my mind was ‘they honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from it’ [Isa 29:13]
“Right in that moment what came out of my head was, ‘empty hands held high, such a small sacrifice. If it’s not joined with my life, what is this?’
“That’s where the song started. And I remember in a prayer time that next Wednesday saying out loud, ‘God I don’t just need to read words off a screen in a building and think that’s worship. I want my lifesong to sing.””
Empty hands held high; Such small sacrifice
Now joined with my life; I sing in vain tonight
May the words I say: And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing; Bring a smile to you
Let my lifesong sing to you; Let my lifesong sing to you
I want to sign your name; To the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true; Let my lifesong sing to you
Lord I give my life, A living sacrifice
To reach a world in need; To be your hands and feet
So may the words I say; And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing; Bring a smile to you

Do You Know Jesus?
The Bible clearly states that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). It also emphasizes that while the wages of sin is death, God offers us the incredible gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).
If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, know that today is the day of salvation (Acts 28). Turn away from your sinful past and turn to Jesus. Remember, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved” (Romans 10:13). Don’t wait—find hope and redemption!
