Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834-1892) remains one of the most revered figures in the history of the modern church, having earned the title “Prince of Preachers.” At the remarkable age of nineteen, he was called to pastor the New Park Street Chapel in London, a congregation that quickly outgrew its building under his dynamic and Christ-centered preaching. His sermons, known for their theological depth, powerful imagery, and direct appeal to the common person, were transcribed and published weekly, reaching a global audience. Beyond his 38 years of pulpit ministry at the Metropolitan Tabernacle, Spurgeon founded a pastor’s college, an orphanage, and authored numerous books and commentaries that continue to be cherished for their spiritual insight and devotional warmth.
