“Him God has exalted to His right hand to be Prince and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.” Acts 5:31

Say not, “What reason have I for repentance? I am no murderer or robber.” You are both. By your sins you have murdered the Son of God, and by your pride robbed God of His due service. Therefore, if your heart be not changed into a new one, go at once to the throne of grace. It may be that Jesus Christ is even now awakening you from the sleep of sin, and about to bestow on you a desire to repent. He will, assuredly, change your heart and make you a new man, if you can yield up yourself unto Him. But you must not delay, nor must your yielding be a reluctant or an imperfect thing.

Jesus stands at the door and knocks, saying, “If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him” (Revelation 3:20). He is knocking now — but if you delay, if you refuse to admit Him, remember there is a last knock, after which He will go away. Invite Him in. Beseech Him to take full possession. Make a full surrender of your heart, of your whole person, to Him. He will give you repentance for your sins, faith in His blood, and the sweet assurance of everlasting salvation.
