“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.” 2 Corinthians 3:18

“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:5

“Leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps.” 1 Peter 2:21

If before we say or do anything, we would always consider whether it was agreeable to the pattern of Christ, a multitude of sins would be avoided. Lord, however guilty and miserable I am — yet when I can humble myself before You as the vilest of sinners and look up unto You by faith, depending only on Your free grace, I enjoy peace. Grant, therefore, O my God, that this beholding of You may be my constant exercise, and that thus I may be strengthened cheerfully to follow Your pattern and be daily more changed into the glorious image of Your love, patience, and humility, and thus be ripening for eternal life. The face of Jesus is a mirror in which may be seen God’s glory; and looking into this mirror by faith conforms us to the image we behold. So as Moses, while in intimate communion with God on the mount, was transformed and his face shone so brightly that the people could not look on him without being dazzled, we also shall be changed into the Divine likeness from glory to glory, even by the Spirit of the Lord. Spirit of the Lord! Daily place Jesus before my mind’s eye!

This life’s a dream, an empty show!
But the bright world to which I go
Has joys substantial and sincere;
When shall I wake and find me there?
