Last week, we covered Revelation 20: What Do We Know About the Great White Throne Judgment? This week, let’s look at chapter 20 of Revelation. It begins with a brief mention of the 1,000-year reign of Christ:
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
After the brief mention of the thousand year reign, revelation is given of that which follows — The Great White Throne Judgment, the final judgment of God:
Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired…Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.

Now, let’s look at Revelation 21.
The Eternal State
After the Great White Throne Judgment, God will “make all things new” (Rev 21:5).
Revelation 21-22:6 tells of the ultimate glory to come for those redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. We are given a glimpse of the New Heaven and the New Earth, a city coming down from God out of Heaven, the magnificent colors, the pearly gates, the streets of gold, and the river of water of life. We can only imagine the glory of the eternal state. It will be a perfect realm without any sin, and we will exist in the love of God and have joy forevermore.
