Pause to Remember 9/11

September 11, 2001, is a day we must never forget. We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the families forever changed, the courage of first responders, and the countless acts of sacrifice and compassion that emerged from unimaginable tragedy. Twenty-five years later, the images remain vivid, the stories still move us, and the lessons of that day still deserve our attention.

But for Christians, remembering is more than looking backward. We remember in the light of what we know to be eternally true: the worst is never the last. Tragedy, suffering, evil, and death do not have the final word. Jesus Christ does. Because of Him, we have an unshakeable hope that reaches beyond the circumstances of this world and rests securely in the promises of God.

We also remember that even in the smoke, confusion, fear, and grief of that terrible day, peace could still be found—not because circumstances were peaceful, but because true peace is found in Christ. The peace He gives is not dependent upon the absence of trouble. It is the assurance of His presence in the midst of it.

Through the years, Reasons for Hope* Jesus has sought to preserve the memory of 9/11 through articles, personal accounts, biblical reflections, and video tributes.
