The gospel that saves is the foundational message of Christianity based on the redemptive work of Jesus Christ through His sinless life, sacrificial death, burial, and resurrection. This transformative message reveals God’s plan to reconcile humanity to Himself, addressing the universal problem of sin.

The Word “Gospel” means “Good News”

Simply stated, the good news is:

Jesus’ Sinless Life: Jesus lived His life in perfect submission to the Fathers will. Without sin, He was the pure and perfect Lamb of God  (John 1:29).
Jesus’ Death for Sins: Jesus died as a substitutionary sacrifice to pay the penalty for human sin, fulfilling Old Testament prophecies (1 Corinthians 15:3).
Jesus’ Burial and Resurrection: Jesus was physically buried and miraculously resurrected on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:4), demonstrating God’s power over sin and death.
Salvation by Faith: This redemption is available to all people (John 3:16, Acts 2:21, Romans 1:16) and is received through faith alone—a gift unearned by human works or status (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Summary

The gospel’s power lies in its simplicity and universality: Christ’s sinless life, substitutionary death, and resurrection provide a path to eternal life for anyone who believes (Romans 1:16). This free gift of grace dismantles all barriers, echoing Jesus’ promise that “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:21).

For those yet to embrace this truth, the invitation is an opportunity to step from darkness into light (John 3:16). If you do not know Jesus, please read more on our salvation page.
For all who belong to Jesus, take time to deepen your understanding of what you have been given (read The Gift of Salvation: Justification & Imputation (Imputed Righteousness)) and marvel at the unshakable hope you have in Christ. Whether seeking salvation or reaffirming its promises, the gospel of Jesus’ saving grace is the anchor for every soul.

Do You Know Jesus?

The Bible clearly states that everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glory (Romans 3:23). It also emphasizes that while the wages of sin is death, God offers us the incredible gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, know that today is the day of salvation (Acts 28). Turn away from your sinful past and turn to Jesus. Remember, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved” (Romans 10:13). Don’t wait—find hope and redemption!
