“Worthy is the Lamb who was slain — to receive power and riches and wisdom, and strength and honor and glory and blessing!” Revelation 5:12
O Lord, what low and slight notions I have of Your great power! By these, I am discouraged — and You are robbed of Your praise. Grant, therefore, that, though I would always be duly abased, and convinced of my vileness in such a manner as never to ascribe any good to myself or think myself worthy of the least thing (for at the best I am but an unprofitable servant). Yet Your grace and power may at the same time appear to me abundantly greater than all my sins, so that I may have always encouragement enough to believe in and praise Your holy name.
Holy Spirit, glorify Jesus in me, and before me — that I may see His worth, trust His blood, taste His love, and be made happy in Him. Then, O then, shall I unite with all the saints on earth and all the hosts of Heaven — in ascribing power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing to His dear, dear name. O for high and exalted thoughts of Jesus — that my heart may glow with love to Him!
