Do you feel pain that causes you to groan? No surprise!
Creation Groans
Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.
We Groan
Romans 8:23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
The Holy Spirit Groans
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
All groaning is a reflection of a sadness for what should have been. This world is not as God created it. Man is not who God intended him to be. Everything is not as God desires.
We should groan. But remember: one day all groaning will cease and the world and man will be renewed in accordance with God’s purpose and plan. God will restore the shalom (peace, completeness, prosperity, and welfare) that was present when He created the world.
